Interesting Reading Elsewhere--Elizabeth Burton

Long, long ago when I could walk and chew gum at the same time (though I didn't because I have always absolutely hated gum) I was starting out review wise. Everyone kept telling me no because I did not have a track record in doing reviews. Of course, I could not get a track record or any traction because nobody would give a chance.

Except for one person. I have written about this before so I will keep it short. Elizabeth Burton had a labor of love called The Blue Iris Journal and she took a chance on me. I learned a lot from her and remain very grateful for being a part of The Blue iris Journal.

These days, in addition to her own writing career and editorial work, she is a major player at Zumaya Publishing. Today on her blog "Liz Burton's Portable Soup" she covers why some books get rejected again and again. Her advice goes far beyond Zumaya Publishing and is well worth the few minutes it will take to read the post.
