Did the phone interview this morning. It will be mid February at the earliest before we see anything as we have to fill out some additional paperwork and provide duplicate copies again of things they already have.
Coincidentally, I had lunch with friends from our church women's group. I sat across from a woman who used to be a social worker and she complained about the senseless duplication she was forced to do while she worked there. She said not only was it stupid, but one blank and the whole process had to be redone. She said her friends tell her it's even worse now.
I believe it. The state out sourced the whole process to save money and prevent fraud and abuse. I don't know about fraud and abuse, but I do know we have had to duplicate stuff again and again thanks to their screwups.
Thank you, and thank you again for your posts!I work at a food bank in California as a food stamps application assistant. I also assist with the process entire, including the unfortunate fair hearings that pop up. Your posts put a face to a problem that exists in almost every HHS department in the U.S.! You express the frustration and injustice in such a clear manner. Please keep going, and I hope you don't mind if I link to you site in one of my E-Newsletters? Stories like yours have profound impact and do promote change.
