Blood work today was much better than expected. She remains anemic, but the numbers have climbed enough off the floor that they are holding off on a blood transfusion for now. Her white blood cell count had come up enough that they held off on giving her a shot for that as well. So, she escaped without either of the procedures that make her so sick each time.
WooHoo!
Wednesday she has a PET SCAN to re-image the cancer. This scan will be compared to the one she had when she was hospitalized about three months ago. This is being done to see if the chemo is working.
Thursday we go back to the hospital and see her cancer folks, have blood work and all that, and hopefully get some positive news results wise.
Assuming we do then next Tuesday and Wednesday will probably be chemo days.
Very encouraging!
ReplyDeleteKevin and Sandi, I'm glad to see a positive change and hope it continues. You both remain in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteWonderful. Hope that the Pet Scan show a lot of progress!
ReplyDeleteSo you know you are not alone, I have a friend who is playing the same game. She is alive but a constant patient. Takes a new kind of patience.
ReplyDeletePositive news--may it continue!
ReplyDeleteSorry about the late reply everyone--I am not doing too well. Thank you all. We are hoping for the best with the Pet Scan, but braced for what we all expect. Just very glad that she was able to skip both deals yesterday.
