Spent the morning and early afternoon with the cancer folks. Sandi is doing okay blood work wise. She continues to fight the congestion and other issues which apparently were diagnosed as a form of viral croup. Unfortunately, she is not getting better breathing wise though she does remain fever free.
Right now we go back Tuesday for the usual visit followed by an admission to the hospital for chemo. However, for this to happen (and it needs to happen) she has to be better. If she is at the same level she is today in all likelihood she will not be starting chemo Tuesday.
Again it is another weekend where all we can do is wait and worry....
The waiting and worrying can wear you down. Add in the chemo and other problems, and it's amazing that you to have stood up to it. I hope things get better.
ReplyDeleteIt is getting to me. I think it is getting to her as well. I don't know how you did this for years and years.
ReplyDeleteIt is so difficult for the body to fight illness on so many fronts. That Sandi is hanging in there says a lot about her, and about your efforts to care for her, Kevin.
ReplyDeleteI hope all goes well and that Sandi will be able to continue her treatment.
ReplyDeleteRight now things don't look good. She has felt pretty bad all day and sounded worse than she has in a few days. She went to bed just after dinner because she was so very tired.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry, Kevin. This makes me very sad. I will continue to hope.
