It is financially desperate times around here these
days. We are very much in trouble and god knows I am sick and tired of begging
for help. Since drug dealing, being a weapons broker, bank robbery, and starring
in an adult movie are out of the question, Sandi again suggested I get back to
writing. Especially freelance writing and editing.
Other than what little I was doing for awhile there with the Tapir and Friends Animal Store, I have done neither for over three years now which
means my skills are rusty and the few contacts out there I had are now gone. Moved
on to new projects, quit the business, or whatever. So, I am starting from scratch. I am also
finding that there are more scams out there and bogus deals than I ever saw
before.
Any advice as to leads, legitimate websites, etc., would
be gratefully appreciated.
Kevin, I'll ask my eldest daughter. She is having some success at building a copywriting business for businesses. I'll get back to you. She is in the hospital now with a broken leg and rehab, but will be coming to our house on Friday. I'll talk to her and get her thinking before then. I might have her email you directly. Her name is Stephanie Suesan Smith and she uses the whole thing in her email. You are a good writer, Kevin, don't waste your talent. I know writing under so much stress is almost impossible, but it actually is cathartic. I wish you could remember your book about the rolling head, etc. That was a great story.
ReplyDeleteThank you, but she needs to not worry about anything with me. She has more than enough going on.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I was good. I was decent at one time. Whether I can get that level back I have no idea. I look at my old published stuff and it is like somebody else wrote things.
I still have that novel partially written sitting around here. My impression was that everyone thought it was clear indication I needed serious help. :)
You might join and look around the Kindle boards (http://www.kboards.com/). It's a spot where a lot of self-published writers gather, share marketing and other ideas. Occasionally I see some asking for editorial assistance. Maybe it'll open some opportunities.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a plan, Terry. Thank you!
