While it was an opinion piece, there is a tough balance with libraries and ebooks, for publishers to deal with.
A library trying to deal with different requirements for every publisher isn't feasible. And there is a balance in what a publisher can expect to get financially from a library (or system of libraries) and what the library can reasonably spend on an ebook. With the big publishers, ebooks aren't cheap...usually well more than a paperback, and about 1/2 as much as hardcover.

Agreed.
ReplyDeleteI have never tried to do ebooks with the library, but have known plenty of folks who did and will be impacted by this bullcrap.
