Good afternoon from NE Dallas where it is nine degrees and a wind chill of minus 15. So far, we have had power. But, there are massive regional outages as well as localized deals due to widespread system failures.
The first two pictures are my street looking left and then right as seen from the front porch.
This is the calm before the next storm starting tomorrow night that is supposed to be more of an ice event. Clearly, I will not be sitting on the deck anytime soon.
Stay warm. Stay safe. Also realize that back in New England, this is known as beach weather.
ReplyDeleteI know. My wife was from Rhode Island.
ReplyDeleteIt must be quite a shock. Like having 110 degree weather in Detroit. Take care.
ReplyDeleteIt is every few years. Like drought, wildfires, and epic floods, this is a "once in a generation event" that happens every few years. It is also the usual incompetence by those who put profits over infrastructure as well as the government leaders who tout let business go unregulated that have combined to make things bad again for so man folks. As a native Texan who grew up here and remembers this stuff happening when he was in middle and high school in the 70s and repeatedly since as more folks moved to the state, listening to the transplanted kids in the media go on about "unprecedented" and the like is seriously annoying.
ReplyDeleteThe low at DFW airport, which makes it official, was a negative one. Officially we are at 6 and are going to get to 20.
Snow is already flying again in West Texas and moves in here late this evening as a snow and sleet event.
