Waking up to something WAY COOL!

It is just after six am as I write this and I am, once again, awake way too early. Been awake since 4:30 where, after four short hours of sleep, I woke up. It was one of those deals where you come instantly awake and you don't know why. You lay there and listen, wondering what it was that woke you up. After a few minutes, you try to relax  and go back to sleep. That attempt is doomed to fail because you start thinking about how bad you hurt, how you have to appeal the decision by Social Security to deny you the state credit for Medicare along with correcting your address yet again, and a million other things. So, you get up, fire up the tea pot and the dishwasher, and know that it will be a long day.

A long day and that is before the possibility of severe weather arrives this afternoon and evening with large hail, damaging winds, and maybe even tornadoes. In October. A month that is bad enough as it has Halloween in it and every horror movie ever made is advertised this month. I never could into the idea of Halloween and that being scared was fun. I find reality plenty scary way too often.

So that is how my Saturday started today. Then I found in my e-mail the notification of the first review over at Smashwords for Mind Slices. I went over and read the brief review from Randy Johnson and thought this is cool. Then, a few minutes later I found the automatic e-mail notification from his blog where I discovered he had also reviewed the book.

To say I am blown away by his blog review and very grateful would be an understatement. My first review is a very positive one and I am very grateful. After you read the review  http://randall120.wordpress.com/ I think you will see why.

The short story collection  Mind Slices: A Collection of New and Previously Published Stories is only .99 cents  and is available online at:

As you say, if you have to wake up earlier than you want to, and if you're hurting and worrying after you do, it's nice to have your written work validated by a positive review.

Yep. I know that not all the reviews will be positive. But, having the first one in and having it so positive is way cool.

I have my copy, Kevin, and look forward to reading the stories. As you know, I'm the world's worst reviewer, but I'm going to write one anyway.

Thank you, Earl. Being part of the writers group means you saw many of these before back when I was writing stuff. But, some of them should be new to you.
