version of my fifth Simeon Grist private-eye mystery. THE MAN WITH NO TIME.
This was the first book ever written about the smuggling of Chinese immigrants
into the U.S., and it came out the same week a boat full of them ran into Long
Island. I was interviewed as an "expert" by NBC, CBS,and even PBS.
When
I reread this to make sure I wouldn't shame myself by making it available, I
thought some of it had held up pretty well.
