More On The Death of Epinions
Since July 2002 I have been a member of Epinions. A reviewsite that many involved claimed was superior to Amazon and nearly everything else online. This despite the fact the site featured a database that was nothing short of a disaster. Over the last few months the owner, e-Bay, made disastrous changes that finally resulted in the death of Epinions last month.
A lot of people in a lot of places are pontificating about what killed Epinions. Former Epinions General Counsel from 2000-2002 Eric Goldman offers what he considers to be lessons taught by what happened here at Forbes online.
