One Too Many Straws

I know there are folks way worse off, but I am so fed up. Hospital just called, and according to the voice mail from some pre registration clerk, we have to pay at least $175 Wednesday for them to allow Sandi to have the MRI. Money we don't have.

So sorry to hear that. Is there anything that you can sell? That is what I do when I need money and don't have it. She has to have the MRI.

I found these links, maybe they would help!

Thanks, but no. We know about them already. They don't help because they are all very specific as to region/county. Even when we find one that we might qualify for, we end up not because of some other criteria.

Collections agencies identify themselves as calling for the: hospital; clinic; doctor; whatever it is. If you have the appointment—go to it. Don't fall for this trick. You may have been turned over to collections, but that doesn't mean you won't be treated. I've been there many times. I'm willing to bet the hospital has simply turned over collecting to a contracted agency.

Show up in person. Go directly to MRI sign-in. If they refuse to proceed, get it in writing why they are refusing.

It might be that. We don't know. We are going to go and show up to do the normal procedure at check in and hope there is not some new wrinkle.

I'm glad you will do that, and I will be holding you both in the light.
