Cardiologist Today

As some folks know by way of social media, I had my annual visit with the cardiologist way up in Plano today.

Allegedly, I am okay, and remain stable heart wise. That means my congestive heart failure is not worse and remains under control through medications.

I have lost a little more weight since the last time he saw me and the BP was in a good place. He also liked how the EKG turned out as it was the same as the last several over the past couple of years. He listened as well as poked and prodded me and liked everything he saw.

We discussed my efforts to try and keep some mobility in place by walking up and down the street each evening a couple of times. Obviously, he would like me to do more distance than I am, but recognizes my other health issues and use of a cane make going very far impossible. Still wants me to get some help for my grief. We agreed that my not crying in his patient room this time was a positive sign. He was also very happy that despite everything I remain sober one day at a time.

So, all in all, a good visit and that box is checked for another year. As always, if I feel symptoms or have something new start up, I am to call asap.

Cardiologist Visit Update

Saw the cardiologist this morning and he believes I am doing okay. He wants several tests done in the spring to see how things are in order to compare to previous tests. He is very concerned about my grief issues and thinks that I really need to get into grief counseling. Something I have not wanted to do as I am upset enough on a daily basis without sitting in a room of twenty folks all talking and sharing this special kind of hell.

After I did that, I had to go by the dealership and have my car looked at to address some things. Getting the work done took about three hours. Add in the doc at two hours and the drive time of an hour each way and it has been a long and tiring day.

I did get medically cleared today to attend Bouchercon 50 here in Dallas at the end of October. he thinks it would be good for me to go and cautioned me to pace myself. I am surprised I was cleared to go, but he was all in favor of it.

Tonight is football and pizza as I rest from a long day that was exhausting and painful. Thank god the NFL is back though I can't remember an opening day with so much player chaos on so many teams. It is going to be interesting.

My pick tonight is ..... The Bears.

Cardiologist Today

By the time this post appears, I will be at the cardiologist and going through the annual visit. Hopefully with no new surprises. Keep a good thought in mind if you will.

Cardiologist Visit Done

Just got home a few minutes ago. Pending blood work results, based on what they did in the office, he thinks I am okay. He thinks a lot of the symptoms I am having are grief related--including significant weight loss--  and are not due to my ongoing congestive heart failure.

His major concern right now is my ongoing stress and grief over everything that has happened the last 18 months plus. He made some suggestions regarding that and told me to take care of myself and give myself time. For now, no medication changes.

We ran a couple of needed errands on the way back home and the Texas heat did a real number on me. Taking blood this morning on a fast certainly was not helpful. Bed rest is in order. If I can, I will try to be online much later today.

Cardiologist

By the time this post appears here on the blog, I will be deep in my visit with my cardiologist this morning. Assuming he does not find anything massively wrong, I should be back home later this morning. If you would, keep a good thought for me. I need it.

Cardiologists Visit

Both Sandi and I had visits with our respective cardiologists today. They went fine. We passed both of our EKG tests with flying colors. I was amazed as I had not done any studying at all.

Her guy thinks she is stable and there should be no issues from a cardiac standpoint with her chemo. Obviously, something bad could happen with her heart and the chemo, but he does not expect that at all. He was absolutely thrilled to see her and made her promise to see him next year at this time.

My guy is a bit worried about me and the "extreme stress" I have been under since January. Is it extreme? I have no way of actually knowing. It is our lives. It does not feel different than normal. He says that is a concern, but not something he is going to try and address now.

I am to monitor my blood pressure and other symptoms I have and if I have additional issues or my ongoing situation seems to be worsening, I am to immediately get in touch with with him and we will go from there. Standard advice though he really pushed it today.

So, all in all, things went fine for today on that front.

Cardiologist Visit

Sandi's cardiologist says everything is as good as it can be considering the circumstances. Told her to keep fighting and he would see her this time next year.

Home from the Cardiologist

We are back home from the Cardiologist. Sandi's visit went as well as it could have considering the situation. Knowing her situation they are billing insurance and then will work with us on what is left on the bill. Things are very bad and their decision is a huge help. Her next appointment is scheduled for July.

We go back to the cancer doctor tomorrow and her leg has not improved at all. Hopefully they will have an idea or two.

Both of us are wiped out and not looking forward to tomorrow.

Cardiologist

Back home from my doctor visit and things seem to be normal. I will be having an echo cardiogram Thursday afternoon to make sure.

This means I should be around to mess with your minds a bit longer......
