The Complete Interactive Guide to Writing Your Novel (Abridged)Daniel J. Hale is an Agatha Award-winning author, a two-time former Executive Vice President of Mystery Writers of America and a creative writing instructor with The Writer’s Path at Southern Methodist University. Together with his nephew, musician Matthew LaBrot, he writes the Zeke Armstrong mystery series for middle-grade readers.
Hale’s short stories have appeared in anthologies such as Dallas Noir (part of Akashic’s Noir Series), The Rich and the Dead (edited by Nelson DeMille) and The Prosecution Rests (edited by Linda Fairstein). He has served as the General Awards Chair for the Edgar® Awards, and he also chaired MWA’s youth literacy program. Hale speaks fluent French and holds degrees from Cornell University, the Bowen School of Law and Southern Methodist University.
A greenhorn forester and recovering mountain biking addict, he spends most of his time in Dallas and the wilds of Arkansas.

The Dallas MWASW group meets the first Saturday of each month at Texas Land & Cattle, 812 South Central Expressway, Richardson, TX 75080.
