Via New Republic-- Amazon's Elite Reviewing Club Sabotaged My Book

For the record, I am am a Amazon Vine Reviewer. I became one, at their request, because of my long track record of reviewing books on a variety of platforms. I never reviewed this book. I had zero interest in reviewing this book. I certainly would not now after the author showed such a complete lack of understanding how the program works and managed to insult everyone involved.

I guess I'm one of those elite reviewers being a Vine member. The way they distribute these books these days is you're offered books(and other items) based on what one has read and reviewed in the past. I likely will never get a shot at her book as it seems not to be the sort I like. doesn't mean it's a bad book, just not what I like to read.

Obviously people that read that "type" of book were offered a chance at it.

Yep, that is the way things come by my way as well. I don't think I would be offered her book either.

I do think insulting everyone who is a Vine member is not the smart way to handle things.

I should have said that also. It crossed my mind. An author should never engage in words with a bad reviewer. Only one looks bad.

While she thinks they were bad reviewers, I don't know if that is true. I have not read her book or the reviews in question. Considering the errors in the piece, I think it is possible that the reviews are more accurate than she would like.
