While I have been reading a bunch at the hospital and have finished several books, I am not in the mental shape to write the reviews. Quite honestly, I am exhausted and overwhelmed. Between my own worsening health and now this with Sandi hospitalized and all I'm barely getting through each day. I just can't do reviews right now.
Once things get settled with Sandi and we have a treatment plan and schedule going forward I can hopefully plan things around here. All we know right now is that treatment will be for a considerable number of months regardless of which way we go. We also now know that Sandi was on the edge of where they start finding out the stem cell transplant failed even when everything looked like last year that it worked. We also now know that she most likely has had cancer again the last several months.
The theory is that the leg infection accelerated the already existing cancer growth which in turn caused the stomach lymph nodes to basically explode in size and press down on the arteries coming out of her leg. That massive growth caused the leg to begin swelling which led the doctors to believe the infection was causing the swelling. Now that all the tests have been run and we all know where we are the plan for how to deal with the cancer long term treatment wise has to be developed.
Once that gets done I hopefully can get back to some regularity review and posting wise around here. Please be patient.

Hi Kevin, I think many of us have had similiar situations. I remember when my husband was in intensive care for his heart. It is extremely fatiguing for the caregiver and of course the patient. The hospital is not a natural place, where you can go somewhere and get some rest. People are always going in and out. And just the idea that your loved one is seriously ill is wearing in itself. I hope that the treatment plan is figured out and is very successful so that you both can go home and get some rest and Sandi have some relief from all her pain.
Take care,
Carol
Reviews will come, if they come. Reading can be a great diversion for a short time, and that's of value. Priorities, I think you have in line...you health and Sandi's situation.
Kevin, we'll be here when you get back. First things first. We love your reviews, but we can wait. I hope you'll be able to keep in touch and let us know how things are going. Please give Sandi my love.
My mind is just too scattered right now after all that has gone on. She is home with us tonight. Tomorrow we go back for her to get a shot, have blood work, and see the doc plus anything else they want to do. Things are very much in flux as plans have changed several times today.
