The CT Results

The scan results are in and they not good. In addition to scar tissue and some other stuff, they see at least one tumor deep in her sinus cavity. It is believed to be at least two centimeters in size though we  don't know if that is diameter or length. In all likelihood it is cancerous. There really isn't any doubt.  Type of cancer is unknown at this point though, with her history, it is most likely a new lymphoma.

The cancer doctor is discussing with the new Ear, Nose, and Throat doctor as to how to biopsy it. They need to be able to get to it--if at all possible--in order to determine what form of chemo to give her and whether or not to radiate the damn thing. Figuring out whether or not they can get to it is going to take some time. The initial assessment right  now is that once again this is is a difficult place.

As it stands tonight, she is still scheduled to go in next Wednesday for another round of lab work and IVIG infusion. Everything else is up in the air for now.

Thank you, Jerry. It hit both of us hard, though her far more than me. She really believed this was not a cancer problem while I had a gut feeling it was. At least, now we know.

Thank you, Jeanne. Both of us are very upset and not online much. Hence, the late reply.

Thank you, Kaye. It has been overwhelming. Waiting for the decision as to whether or not they can even get there to try to biopsy it is not helping.
